SAVE A GAME?

29 Dec 2022, 08:41Assuming you're playing online:
If it's a Quest game, there should be a 'save' button at the top right, and a save command (just type save
).
You can only save online if you're logged in.
Then, when you go back to the game's listing (you might have to refresh it), the big green "Play" button will be replaced by two buttons, to play from your saved game or from the start.

16 Feb 2023, 13:40Just bumping this up as I am having the same problem. I have created a game for my students and they cannot seem to save.
The game was created using the web editor.
The game object has the "Hide save button" UNCHECKED.
When playing, there is no "Save" button on the interface.
Entering a "save" command at the prompt just gives a "failed to save" message.
Going back to the listing page just has the normal "Play" button, and it puts you right back at the beginning.
Are we absolutely sure the save functionality works on published games?
In case it makes a difference, the game in question is published, but UNLISTED.
Many thanks for any help!

17 Feb 2023, 10:32Two things I'd check:
- Are you using the secure version of the site when playing? (
https:
vshttp:
in the address – some features only work on one or the other) - Are you logged in when playing (games are saved to your account)
Saving online can also fail if you have a slow connection, or if there's been a lot of text output; as saving requires uploading all the previous text displayed from your browser back to the server.

21 Feb 2023, 15:14Hmm . . . tried again, and there's the SAVE button. Very odd. Not sure how I missed it before, or why it would have been missing. Must be going crazy . . . anyway, thank you for the help!
