So, currently I came up with this really good idea for a text adventure, and I want to put this plan into action, but i have 1 issue. I cannot, for the life of me, learn any programming language. At the same time, I don't want to say "hey go on this website i made this" i want to give people a download link and say "i made this" essentially, I'm looking for something thats basic, but not a online service that's gonna make me look petty. Could anyone help me?

There is a lot you can do in Quest without any programming at all. Have you had a look at the tutorial? And people round here are pretty helpful.

I guess the issue is, how complicated is the game you envisage?

There are plentyof tutorials on the the site that could help! Also, there are plenty of people on this forum that could help you!

I found a link for the tutorials. http://docs.textadventures.co.uk/quest/tutorial/

I don't exactly know why you have such small expectations, but okay. You do not need to know that much programming to make a basic game on Quest.

Are you working on the Desktop version of Quest? If you are, you can probably download The Pixie's combat library for it, although I haven't checked. Here is a link for it anyway. https://textadventures.co.uk/forum/samples/topic/4886/rpg-style-combat-library

You can also type "combat" or "fight" in the forum's search engine, and you should find what you want after clicking on a few things.

I can not help you in terms of actual coding knowledge, as it seems you and I are in the same boat. I can not even code my way out of a wet paper bag... O_o However I have had an idea for years and I tinker with my game off and on, then get side tracked and work on other games using Quest... ^_^ Quest is easy enough for anyone wanting to make the most basic, but enjoyable games quickly. It also has a lot of intuitive features that allows you to do more interesting things with your game and still no coding is required, just basically point and click or drop and drag. Then you have plug and play libraries, as I understand them, and they will make your game even better. Then you have the nice people here who will help out. I myself have asked for their services more than once and have received help quite quickly as well.

You both just need to start small and understand that it takes a lot of constant practice and time to learn programming. It's essentially equivalent to learning a new language as you are trying to learn how a computer speaks/thinks, if that makes sense.

I didn't know any coding languages 2/3 years ago. But I've been constantly developing my game and learning little tiny bits of code at a time. I would say that instead of using the Quest GUI on everything, start with learning how to write if-scripts in the GUI code view. Once you can do that without looking at any help, move onto something else. Rinse and repeat :)

Hahaha! Dear me no... When "I" say that I can not code, I mean just that. It is not something everyone can learn. And my game is big in scope, but still relatively simple, at least the first chapter which may act as a demo or aimed at new text adventurers. I almost had it complete until an update made the code someone had so nicely given to me for roaming guards not work anymore and then one thing led to another and I got side tracked. Now I am back, but with side tracks still. ^_^
