Very new to this -- very basic question about sharing games
convenient
17 Jan 2021, 02:48Hello! I'm very new to Quest but was hoping to create a simple text adventure as a companion to a Zoom murder mystery party for friends and family. The idea would be that the Zoom attendees could explore an interactive mansion with puzzles while we talk as characters on Zoom.
But the text adventure wouldn't be playable without the Zoom session running at the same time -- so it's not really a game that would stand on its own for other players. Would I still be able to upload it to the site here? If not, is there some other way I could share a text adventure I make on Zoom with friends and family?
Sorry if this question is a dumb one -- like I said, I'm very new, so please be gentle...

17 Jan 2021, 06:28I've never heard of zoom being used for text adventures. This is new to me.
I believe zoom is an app created by the Chinese that America uses. It's supposed to be used for video calls.

17 Jan 2021, 11:31Yes, you can upload the game to the site.
When you upload, you choose if you want the game to be listed or not. In this case, I would suggest choosing the option that makes the game only playable by people you give the link to.

That's a pretty good idea!
... and everything mrangel said is accurate.

17 Jan 2021, 13:51Thanks so much! Will let you all know how it goes. It just feels like all these Zoom parties this year have been so depressing; hoping that it'll be nicer to give everyone somewhere to explore together.
