This is ridiculous

it is easier to write code for a new game than to reverse engineer someone else's game without permission

i understand that people are fans of the game and want to create updates for it, but good intentions can sometimes lead to negative consequences

for instance, if files are stolen, the original game creators might feel unsafe about their copyright and ownership, and they may choose not to continue their work as a result

I do think it's a bit weird. But the limitations on the online editor make me think there's something very different happening behind the scenes; maybe in the way the game files are stored on the server. If you could get a file created offline into the online editor, features not supported by the online editor could behave very oddly and be hard to diagnose.
