I'm following the tutorial but I've hit a snag. I seem to be missing the use/give tab.

"Now go back to Bob. On his Use/Give tab, go to the “Use (other object) on this” section and choose “Handle objects individually”." This option is simply not there for me?

Have I missed a step? I have bob set to be a male object but this tabs just missing.

On the "Features" tab, tick the box marked "Use/Give: object can be used on its own or with other objects/characters, or given to other objects/characters".

The 'Features' tab is basically a list of other tabs that you can show or hide (unticking the box later won't stop the player from giving the item… all it does is hides the tab in the editor)

If you can't find a tab, it's usually worth checking out the 'Features' tab on that object, or the one on the game, to see if there's something relevant there.
