How the [expletive deleted]* do I exit full screen without quitting the game I'm currently playing (in 5.8)?

I pushed F9 to open the HTML tools, then entered this in the console:

uiShow('#controlButtons')

That made the 'Exit Full Screen' button appear.

The day is saved!

The text adventure I was playing had no location bar.

This one time, at band camp, we had this game called Enter the Matrix, and it was on PC, and it was cool, and we all played it, and you could do hacking, and there was this one part, where you had to enter FROZENFISH, but some people couldn't figure out, but then they found out they didn't have to figure it out, as long as they looked through all the files available while hacking...

That was nothing like this.
