Pokemon Mathematical Systems...

10 Oct 2005, 17:55Hey,
I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find a comprehensive guide to the mathematical systems that run the Pokemon GB game. I want to use them for the creation of my own game, and I've found small pieces taken from the cartridge code, but nothing comprehensive.
I need to know the formulas for damage calculation, experience gain, probabillity of encounters, money for winning, etc. The whole system that runs the game. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

12 Oct 2005, 23:57you're asking quite alot. It would take a while to implement this kind of data into a quest game.

13 Oct 2005, 15:57Yes, it would. But not if I don't get any data, eh?

15 Oct 2005, 14:11Serebii.net has some of the information that you're looking for: here. I've seen other resources, but my bookmarks list has been culled several times in the last few years.
Also, as far as I know, the amount of money that you win per battle is not calculated using some formula. It is probably just set by the developers in accordance to some basic rules (eg. `Gentlemen' drop more money than `Youngsters').

That sounds very interesting!
And for some reason it feels original to me even though pokemon is one of the most un-original things, With their storyline repeating in every game, Just slight changes.
