QDK library interface idea...

It may be helpful to be able to add notes to the extra tab's we are able to create via the library interfacing in QDK (and quite nice it is too!!! )...

I guess for now I can just use the actual display parameter for helpful hints for now but I do think a HINT or HELP part should be added like the Property/Type/Script etc...
Maybe having multiline like:
HELP <line1>
HELP <line2>
etc... :?:

Correction:
Using the displayed parameter won't word - the label has word wrap (at least the room ones do!) and doesn't display any helping hints...
Any suggestions? :?

Oh, and QDK doesn't list objects defined in the library...
Just wondering if that should/shouldn't be done...
Neither are types - which would be a nice idea!! Also important if the library needs types to be used (ie MaDbRiT's lib).

And before I forget - a nice addition would be to specify the amount of letters/characters that the creator can type in (ie. The property is only 3 digits long, so it doesn't require 4 digits or the textbox to be that long...) which could vary the texbox size - making more room (one of my object property lists has taken up one tab already.... And I'm not finished :!:  ).

!!!!HUGE LIBRARY IDEA!!!!

Have a guide(or better explained help section) on making libraries.

I swear, I've tried making them numerous times(to house procedures and such to keep my ASL file simple and clean, faster running), and NEVER has one worked. Better documentation would be helpful.

Really??
I get it easily - all you need to do is add the procedures to the library file and call them from the normal game...
Only problem is they don't appear on any lists - but they ARE there!!!

Take a quick look at MaDbRiT's library, and have a quick gander at the help file. It's gotten really easy now IMO just adding stuff in... Just needs some basic stuff like:
!Library (ESSENTIAL!!!)
!ASL-Version<300> (or any other version)

And that's it... If you wanna add startscript look in the help file... Wanna change QDK - also in the help file!!!

Good Luck - if you want help I'll email you on a private e-mail and send you a sample library!! 8)

For once I'm teaching someone!! YAY

I've suggested (and Alex agreed) that library authors should be able to specify pop-up 'tooltips' when the mouse is passed over items so as to explain their library's options.

That ought to go a long way towards making them easier to use.

I personally don't like tooltips because it involves me moving the mouse and then waiting for a tooltip to come up... :x
But then again I wouldn't mind them in place of the notes.

They're a way of putting more guidance for the end user into the interface without cluttering it up with fixed notes. They might not be ideal, but they're sure as hell better than nothing!
