Because i'm currently working on 2, and one of them is Quite Huge!.
Thanks for any input.

09 Mar 2005, 18:24I think it's entirely up to you. Although it's not the case with games, I'm also an artist and modeller, and I do work on several projects at a time, especially if they're big ones - it's nigh on impossible to keep my focus on a single goal long term, so I can switch between whichever project I'm particularly sparked on at the time. It makes each individual project last longer, but helps keep me from getting bored and frustrated.

09 Mar 2005, 18:56I quite often have several different games on the go at the same time. That way, if I get bored with one I can quickly switch to the other.

10 Mar 2005, 02:01I’m the opposite. I can’t manage to focus on more than one game at once, especially large ones.

10 Mar 2005, 12:17Well, it's a bad idea with big projects, leads to bugs etc...
You may forget where you were, what you were going to do, how you did a certain aspect of one part - and so you get confused and may have to re-start everything, or spend a couple of days going over the code again.
Although, I myself find that I do loads of small things, that never get finished because they are pointless mostly.

10 Mar 2005, 16:57If i leave a big project for a while,i leave notes in the code,so i no what im doing as soon as i start again.

11 Mar 2005, 09:38I do, and I don't too...
Some notes I leave are quite mysterious after a few months away, while some trigger off the old memories again. Then there's gaps when I think "I'll add notes in later" and then forget to.

11 Mar 2005, 18:56I'm working on about 5 games right now. If I stick to one, I finish it faster, but, like someone said, I get bored. I also usually leave notes, and I usually remember what they mean. I don't think there's any right or wrong; it's really a matter of personal preference.

13 Mar 2005, 22:57I usually have just one project per code type at a time, for example, one VB project (MPlayer), one Quest project (don't remember the name), and one Game Maker project (Revenge of Matthew, formally Castle of Doom).
