I have created an object 'hanging rope' I set up verb 'climb ''. All I can get is 'you can't climb; climb up' when the game is played. I tried several things and now have two climb; climb ups and a climb on the verbs list . I cannot delete any of them. Deleting hanging rope and re entering it does not work. I seem to have messed up ' climb ' and can't get out of it. I now have a rope integral to the game that no one can climb. I don't do coding . Can anyone give me a simple answer please.

Is 'climb' in the verb list at the top of the tree of stuff? If so delete it up there or alter it as you see fit.

No I put it in as a verb of the object ' hanging rope'. I didn't put it in as a command. I think I confused the verbs by putting in climb when there was already climb ; climb up as an option. Sorry I can't use the proper computer jargon. I am largely self taught.

At the very top of your object list on the right, expand Objects and make sure 'game' has been expanded. Next, make sure 'Verbs' has been expanded.

All verbs you make will appear in this list. Find the ones you wish to remove/alter, and do so from there.

Also, I would highly recommend creating a backup or two. What I do is save my current project, then save as 'x BU1', 'x BU2', wherein x is the name of the project. Keeping backups is also very handy for when something breaks, as it allows you to compare to previous versions if it works there.

Thanks for that Xanmag and Pykrete. I don't understand expanding verbs or where you do it. I don't use a big computer only an iPad .I did a sneaky move in the end and put shin up rope (that's low technology used by people who are not too clever)

Click in the - + signs by the words. Expanding refers to expanding/opening the list contained by that object. Alternately, right click on the stuff to the left and select 'Expand All'.

Thanks both. I don't have a proper set up at the moment ,only an iPad . Therefore I can only programme on line. I looked it up and verbs can't be fiddled with on line. Sorry to be a pain, I think I can get by with what I did. Hopefully will finish this game (The Watchkeepers) soon.
