Saving Game

31 Oct 2015, 12:51Hi,
Because I use Linux as my operating system, I must use my browser, to create a story.
On the Webeditor is a "save" button. My habit is to save often. My question is: Where is the file saved and how can I backup the file?
My apologies for wasting your time with such a menial issue.

31 Oct 2015, 16:07The file is saved on the textadentures server.
I don't know of a true way to "backup" the file, in the sense of having a copy you can go back to. You can always download the file, but I don't know of any way you can then re-upload your copy to resume editing it if anything goes wrong. So you can "backup" by downloading, but there is no "restore" as such.

31 Oct 2015, 21:32.. by, "download the file", would imply that my story would need to be published? Once published, I should be able to download the story, just like everyone else does? I downloaded a story, created by another user, to use as a "guide" or as an "example" but the Webeditor does not seem to have the ability to "import". I managed to extract all the data from the downloaded "quest" file, but found it to be of no practical use, as an "example". The file, and its data, have been deleted from my system.
I would prefer to have my work stored on my own system. That way, I can create a backup, and restore just in case I messed something up. If the "server" went down, or the file system became corrupted, I would lose all my work until the server was restored.
I am not comfortable with the idea that someone else is taking the responsibility of looking after my stuff. *sigh*
I have installed Quest on my wife's Win7 laptop. The story saves and loads without problem. I have not as yet tested it's ability to import.
I installed Squiify and it saves and loads just fine.
I do not know if it is just me, but I think that the Online Webeditor, should have the ability to export/import.
I need coffee... It's too hard to think at 8:30am without my coffee.
Have a great day.
