Enhancement to Quest: Desktop Icon
The Old Brick
07 Nov 2014, 06:31When we install Quest for Windows Desktop, it does not put an icon on our Desktop. It doesn't even ask whether we would like an icon on our Desktop. Most contemporary software does.
Instead, we must copy the icon from the Start folder (that Quest does create) and paste it on the Desktop ourselves.
=====
Once again, as somebody responded in my previous "Enhancement" thread, "You do have to make an additional click or two".
It reminds me of the incredible shrinking wafer bar in the country where I live. The wafer bar started at 50g. Then, corporate management decided its first reduction should be to 48g. Gullible consumers would say, "It's only a gram or two", but corporate management knew that those 2 grams add up.
Quest is quite similar. Extra clicks every time I want to select a base font. Extra clicks every time I want to select a font color. Extra clicks every time I want to select a background color. And now, extra clicks when I want Quest's icon on my Desktop.
Those extra clicks add up.

07 Nov 2014, 07:49You can add an issue with your wishes at https://github.com/textadventures/quest/issues, but as Alex said, there will be no larger enhancements to Quest any more. Colour or font picking would be a nice, but unimportant feature.

This would be a trivial change to the setup ISS script, if anybody wants to do this.
I'm more than happy to accept a pull request, but I am purposefully going to leave this for somebody else to do - because it's not a feature I personally need, or think is important.
