Adding credits

Hello everyone,

Can you please tell me where it is best to include game credits, like playtesters' names, game version, etc? Am I supposed to have this right at the beginning of the game?

What other credit do you include? Do you credit Quest itself?

Thanks,
G.

There's lots of ways to do it. If a person completes the game you could run a credit sequence then. At the end, like in the movies. Or you could do it at the start, like the movies used to do. I had an idea that an in game computer would have as one of the options 'credits' and do it that way too. There's no hard and fast rules, just that they should be there.

Or you could create a game command that triggers it. You'd have to somehow let the player know what to say and when for it to work though. Most players aren't interested in credits tbh. Only contributors are.

I'd give a credit to everyone. Alex for the software, your beta testers, inspirational people, friends, family, pets...

The only people interested in reading them are those who've been credited really. But you do need to credit.

The standard in Interactive Fiction is to have an "about" command. If you ever enter an IF competition, "about" is expected and pretty much a must.

Yes, all this makes sense. I'll go with the 'about' option, especially if it is common ground.

Thanks a lot!
