I was just wondering how the auto-save/save function works in the software: I've been noticing that my game is being constantly auto-saving (or something is going on) as I can close my game without needing to save and it will have automatically saved.

Is there some way I can disable this? I'd like to be able to manually save without having to make a hundred "Save As" files.

There is an autosave funtion in the online editor but it saves the game on the server. so you shouldn't see a "Save as" message
