I published my first text adventure (game book mode) and when I went to go play it an error message showed up saying "illegal character path" what does that mean? And how can I fix the problem?

I'd like to check it out, but I don't know where your game is. Can you provide a link? (Just to confirm, by "published", you do mean online?)

My suspicion is that you have an odd character somewhere, perhaps in the game title. But I won't know for sure without more info.

It won't let me post it online on the site, it says "file failed to load"

I suspect it's the name of your image (img:download (2).jpg). I'd rename it to have a name without the parens and without spaces (e.g. download2.jpg). Spaces in particular don't play well in web browsers.
