Can't see exits in the dark

Hello all,

Again I'm stuck and can't see this already answered in previous forum threads, so asking you all again, sorry!

I start in the kitchen and it is dark (ish), with a description something like "it's a bit dark, so all you can see is a few cupboards and a sink and the doors out".

Later in the game, I want to come back with a lightsource, and find a new description saying "it's nice and light, you can see lots of things, etc etc".

That's all fine, and I've got that working, I think - the room starts "dark" and gives me the "dark" description, but none of the exits work! In other words, I am in the "dark" room, and then can't get out because all the exits are non-functional :-S

I checked the same room after doing nothing but unchecking the "room is initially dark" checkbox, and the exits appeared, so they're definitely working if it's not dark.

Is it normal that when it is "dark", you can't see any of the exits? Is there a way to change this?

Somewhere there should be an option to set the exits as "minor" lightsources just like the cabinets and other objects, ie. you can see them in a dark room but they don't actually provide light. I'd be more specific as to where the option is, but I can't exactly remember and I'm on my phone, not at my computer.

Ah, found it, thanks :-)

After I click "is a lightsource" (which I hadn't tried up till then) it then produces a drop-down menu from which I can choose "can be seen" or "lights up room", the former being perfect for my needs.

Thanks!
