Game Descriptions
TriangleGames
25 Mar 2013, 21:11It just donned on me that when I upload a game to the site, I have to write a description for it, even though the game object in the file has a space for the game's description. Since a separate description has to be included when uploading the game file, what is the purpose of the description inside the game file?
Also, is there any way to include an active web-link in the description that actually displays on the site? For instance, a link to the site of an artist being credited for images or music in the game.
P.S.: Similarly, the game object lists "author," but the displayed author on the site is automatically the name associated with the account uploading the file.

26 Mar 2013, 09:12When you upload a game, the description is automatically filled in from the game.
You can't include web links anywhere on the site at the moment, though I may reconsider this as part of the redevelopment of the site which is currently underway.

I'm pretty sure that did not happen when I tried it the other day. The description box was initially blank, and it would not let me proceed without filling it in. It's possible I did something weird or backwards, but you might want to check on whether that's working properly.
It did (finally) occur to me that the data in the game file would be used in the downloaded version of the game as well.
