I found that the command "once:" in the room description is not working because it shows the text "again" after I run an event that I created. Any advise?

If you could post a sample file that exhibits the problem, we should be able to get to the bottom of it fairly quickly. I don't know much about "once", but what you posted doesn't seem enough to go on.
