Lagging Quest 5

Hello everyone,
I'm a real beginner at this, so I'm not sure I posted at the right place. If not, excuse me.
Also, I tried to find related post or infos but found nothing.

Here is my problem:
Everytime I try to run the "play" mode after creating something, it fails : the windows open, but won't go farer than showing inventory, directions,etc...and everything else stay blank. It doesn't write the usual sentences as "you are there" for exemple. Then I can't do anything except quit. After that, the creation part is now slowed, and it becomes a pain to use.

Help! Did I missed to read something, is there minimum specifications required to run it?

Thanks

I presume this is with the Windows desktop version?

What version of Windows are you using, and what version of Internet Explorer? Quest embeds IE for output, and it sounds like it's not initialising properly. Does IE work when you launch it from the Start menu?

Also, does the same problem affect games you launch from the Play tab?

Yes, it is.
My PC runs on Windows XP.
Humm. I'm using Firefox. So no wonder IE isn't working
And yes, it affects the other game too.
Well, I'll downlaoding the last IE version right now, hopes everything will go fine then.

Thanks for your amazingly quick response!

Hopefully upgrading IE will fix it. It doesn't have to be your default browser, it just needs to be installed and working.

Well, even with EI 8, it stills doesnt work...
I'll try to re-dl it, maybe something was corrupted.
(Is there any other way I can find infos on what is going wrong? There isn't a Warning.txt or error.txt...) :(

It may be worth looking through these other forum posts for clues:

Check that Internet Explorer itself is working correctly. Try disabling add-ons.

I did everything I could on the three pages.
Won't work on my netbook.
Is there an other logiciel that could run .aslx file, so that, without running quest play mode I could see what I'm doing and if it's working?
Thanks.

You can use Tools, Publish to create a .quest file for your game, then upload it to http://www.textadventures.co.uk/submit-a-game/

If you choose "Unlisted" from the second screen, it won't be public, and you'll be able to test your game online.

(If you're going to do that though, you may as well use the web-based Editor in the first place - http://www.textadventures.co.uk/create/ )

Thanks,
I hoped there would be something that doesn't need an internet connection, because mine is lame...
But that will do for sure.
I thought about using the web tool, but saw it was still a beta and dont manage attributes.
Anyway, words can't say my gratitude, I rarely saw a forum with so quick answers :D
