Cutscene Possibility?

22 Mar 2012, 20:24I made a simply movie using an MP3 and pictures. All I did was combine them in Windows Love Movie Maker. It's a cutscene for my game in which a picture of the main character is shown, the image flashes to some still shots of flashbacks. There is a low drone in the background and with each flash there is a deep, bass "WHUMMM" to show the character feeling these flashbacks hitting him quite hard.
However, I noticed there wasn't an area to put movies! I suppose I was so surprised at all the things the program could do, I assumed too much. That was my bad.
So what should I do instead? I could start an animated GIF and an MP3 at the same time, but timing the gif with the MP3 would be really difficult to do, and it wouldn't be a constant.
Also, if it's a possibility at all, the easiest solution would be a way to have Quest just play the WMV, I'm just assuming that isn't possible, however.

22 Mar 2012, 21:33There's no video support in Quest 4. In Quest 5, you could use a YouTube or Vimeo video. The reason there's no WMV support is that it wouldn't really work if the game was played online (which is the most common way of playing now).

22 Mar 2012, 21:40Alright. Well, in the meantime are there any WMV-to-GIF converters for free that don't leave a watermark out there? I'll just try to time the GIF display with the MP3.
