How to create iPhone/iPad apps?

16 Dec 2011, 12:12Hi, I'm an italian IF author and I wonder if I can turn Questa games into apps for iPhone/iPad.
I'd like to write quest games and share them as apps. It is the only way to make text adventures live again, I think. I tried Bump and it is nice to play it on iPhone.
In a previous answer, you said: "If you want to turn your game into an app, you'll need to contact me, and I'll work with you to create the app version".
So, you'll do it everytime? Do you have time to do it?
It would be difficult to do it on my own? (I've programming experience only with Inform... nothing else at all!).
cheers,
fc

16 Dec 2011, 14:04Yes, each app needs to be converted be me, but it doesn't need to take me very long - the main thing that takes time is testing the finished app, but that is of course something that you as the game author can help with. It took longer for Bump as that was the first app, and Tim doesn't have an iPhone - hopefully converting other games into apps will be much quicker.
So, when you have finished creating your game, let me know and we can talk about converting it!

If you've got to be involved with the whole process ... that could be very unweildy if you convert it ... and then the creator needs to make changes ... and then you have to convert it ... etc. Are there plans in the future to stream line the process?

31 Dec 2011, 12:42Yes in the future it should be much more automatic. It's still early days for the converter software though which is why I need to be a bit more "hands on".
