whenever testing new things i put in my game is it possible to start the game somewhere else besides the beginning? Now that i'm later in the game i have to go through a bunch of stuff to get to where i'm testing. It's making me sick of my own game.

You can change the start room by clicking Game on the tree, then select a new room from the "Players start in this room" drop-down.

Also, during the game, if you have Debug windows enabled, you can click the Debug menu and go to the Object Debugger. You can select any room in the game and click "Go to" to jump to that room.
