04 Dec 2003, 20:14Are you sure you have the proper address for the file?
i.e. c:\thisdir\thispic.jpg
Or if not, that it's in the Quest directory?

04 Dec 2003, 20:16I can't speak for sound but I had a problem with picture until I made sure the picture was in the same directory as the game file, and that the path call was correct.

04 Dec 2003, 20:20Oops. I deleted my post. It was something like this:
Only certain sound types are allowed. If it is not allowed, it will not play. Also, make sure the pictures/sounds are working and not corrupt.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
To do sound/pictures there's two ways to do it:
1) Execute the file... Execute is in QDK somewhere.
2) open the picture/sound file using Quest... As far as I know only .bmp's and .gifs for pictures with .mod and .midi for sounds are available (Alex - why aren't you using media player to open .mp3's and .wavs and stuff? Would also save me converting any movie's to moving .gif's).
The first is ALWAYS the best - the player can usually play/watch the file you're trying to open.
The second is mainly for convenience - stopping windows opening up all over the players' screen.
In both cases you should put the file inside the same directory as THE GAME (not the darn quest directory) and then execute or open the FILE NAME ONLY!!!! So if you have the file "d:\whatever\pic.gif" you put "pic.gif" and have your game file in "d:\whatever\".
