I think I screwed up again

Okay, so maybe this would actually be corrected by updating to Quest 412, but as mentioned in the other topic, I can't download it. :(
Anyway, I tried to create a quest game with German language, so I used synonyms to change the default vocabulary (i.e. "go to equals gehe zu" and such). It worked with everything except for "speak to", for some reason, and somehow I ended up with the commands "look at" and "speak to" in the right text box not working anymore. Then I noticed the verbs in other files had been effected as well. I managed to kind of repair the text box (I erased the German game, and the buttons now seem to work again except in one game that has already been effected too much), and I can use the commands again, but I just can't fix the question box (it still says "ja" and "nein" instead of "yes" and "no"). I tried text editor, but the default vocabulary doesn't show up in there. Is there a way I can repair this?

Did you edit the ENGLISH.LDF file or create a new LDF file? This will have translated the text in the Quest player. You should be able to get back by clicking Tools, Options, then select English from the drop-down list.

If you've edited ENGLISH.LDF, either go back into that file to undo your edits, or alternatively when you reinstall Quest the file should be rewritten correctly.

I don't even know what a .ldf file is or where I would have to go to edit it. I just used the synonyms function. And I deleted the synonyms that seemed to have caused the problem, but for some reason that didn't help. I'll try what you suggested, I'll let you know if it will solve the problem. Thanks again for helping me.
Edit.: Okay, I just tried, but I only get as far as "options". There is no "English" to click on. The only functions I can activate or deactivate are "Check for updates automatically", "Confirm before deleting rooms and objects", "Create corresponding exits automatically by default", "Warn about missing variable or function characters in conditions", "Include additional verbs library for all new games" and "Automatically load the game when starting QDK". And then there's another list for "default description style" and one for "auto save", but neither of them contain a function for the chosen language.

The options screen I was talking about is the Quest options, not the QDK options. When you're running a game, click Tools, Options to see the Quest options.

Oh. Well, I just checked, English is already selected. But the problems are still there. I must have created an error somewhere, but neither the deletion of the synonyms I used or the game I created them in nor the installation of the new version were able to repair the damage. :(

Hi again,

sorry, shortly after my last post my computer crashed due to a virus and it took some time to get somebody to repair it. Then once I was online again I didn't remember to check here for answers.
I just logged on again because I just had yet another problem. I erased the old QDK pro file because I wanted to redownload it (I had to install a new version of Windows which for some reason can't open programs from the old saving place, so I had to install everything new to get it to work), but now the site wants me to buy it again, and I don't find an option to just download it (via log-in). Does that have something to do with the new Windows? What do I have to do?
