Map Custom In-line Colours

09 Apr 2009, 10:20I find having to use the foreground script command to change to custom colours a nuisance, because I can't do it in-line. I think a cool feature would be the following:
colour <c1; 5090FF>
colour <c2; 5010FF>
...
colour <c9; 2090FF>
Then:
msg <|c1This is text in the first colour. |c2This is text in the second colour. ... |c9This is text in the ninth color.>
colour <c1; 5090FF>
colour <c2; 5010FF>
...
colour <c9; 2090FF>
Then:
msg <|c1This is text in the first colour. |c2This is text in the second colour. ... |c9This is text in the ninth color.>

09 Apr 2009, 16:57You're right that colours are a bit of a pain at the moment - they haven't really changed since Quest 1.0.
I think a better solution will be to cover this as part of a revamp of formatting codes, using something more HTML-like to give you greater control. This won't happen for Quest 4.1 though, but some version afterwards.

I hope we see a blog post soon - one that has the new 4.1 release! It will be great to be able to pass along a game to a friend as a complete executable.
