New game

I'm creating a new game, and it's my very first. It's called "Dr. Mad and the Aztek Temple Of Dangers You Don't Want To Know About for Reasons Unbeknownst To You". It plays on mad scientist stereotypes, and stereotypes in general. If you have any hints for a first time writer, please respond.

hehehe - that sounds great!
Just remember if you have any trouble, just post to the forum - we'll get back with something.

Well of course you would use QDK. Unless you know ASL inside out.

I don't really "know ASL inside out".
All you need is a grasp of BASIC and use the help documentation for whatever you're trying to do.

I know that

Hey, I can write four different programming languages. VB, QBasic, ASL and HTML. Do better and you can mock me.

HTML isn't a programming language, it's a markup language. You can't program in it.

I think Im Dead

The whole, Hyper Text Markup Language should have tipped 'em off.

. . . And to carry on from ITID's post:
You don't seem like you can program in VB or QBASIC either.

Geez. Alright, so HTML isn't a programming language. But I can still write it. Check out my website: http://www.geocities.com/codingmasters

You can find VB and QBasic programs there that I have written, to prove that I can write VB

As for QDK, well, the demo that I uploaded on Friday for my upcoming game should give you a hintof what's tocome, and prove that I can write Quest games.

So there

Which demo is this? The only one I see recently is that awful Team Aurom demo which is credited to Kidwonder who, as chance would have it, you've written a glowing review for.

Yup - the colours were dreadful!
I won't even continue to comment on it, and didn't even bother to look for any Qbasic stuff or VB stuff.

1.My demo hasn't been put up yet. I'm waiting on Alex.

2. If you would like to suggest a new color scheme, go ahead. I'm always open for feedback.

Matthew G.

PS. can we please try to keep this thread sane?

White background and dark writing?
Always best to have a light background and darker writing. Dark background with light text just sucks.

Thanks for the input. I'll see what I can do, but as i'm trying to relocate my site, as well as juggle homework, as well as find some time to code by lastest game, as well as trying to stop you guies from flaming me, it's gonna be hard

Easy to stop me - post less and put more meaning in your replies.

as we were on the topic of who can script better html than who, well im sorry CM, i can do HTML, PHP, Javascript, i can do gfx design, and ASL. VB, nope, QB, nope. but you're saying you're good at them all. your website is a blue background with some VERY horrid links, and i can hardly read the link because of the colours.

take a good look at my website. http://www.squiggleuk.com/forumhosting

i said I would change the colors, but it won't be up for some time.

And, I never said I was good at them all, but I can still do it, although I don't know PHP because right now i don't need to. As for Javascript, I know a tiny bit.

That's just silly!

Wow, codingmaster, you know 4 languages. I know C/C++, ASL, HTML, inform(orwhateveritscalled), dynamic HTML, javascript, cgi, php, perl, a little assembly, and a little basic and visual basic. And I do believe Computer Whizz is my superior in skill and knowledge. How about you learn assembly and THEN brag. I can't really consider copying snippets to make a program actual programming either.
