QDK Tutorial / Book - testers wanted
Alex
09 Nov 2006, 16:16The first draft of the QDK Tutorial is almost ready, and I'm looking for willing testers - whether you know hardly anything about QDK, or if you know a lot.
Please send an email to me at alex@axeuk.com and I'll send you the tutorial when it is ready, together with a link to the beta version of Quest and QDK 4.0 if you've not already got it.
The tutorial is currently a 44-page PDF file, and depending on how much you know already, it make take you a while to get through. The finished tutorial will be part of the Quest 4.0 download, and I also plan to make it available together with the reference guide as a print-on-demand book, which should be nice.
As with the beta, I'll reward good feedback with free copies or upgrades of Quest Pro, as well as copies of the finished book or Amazon vouchers for particularly good feedback.

24 Nov 2006, 23:50I was following the QDK Tutorial using Quest 4.0 Beta 2 and descovered a serious error.
Following the tutorial
Create new game
What do you call this game? House
Your Name? Steve
Where do you want to save this game? DESKTOP FOLDER 'Quest'
FILE NAME : House
Additional Verbs (Off/On) Makes no difference
Add Rooms : Lounge / Kitchen (you can check either or none)
Click Ok
run-time error '91'
object vairiable or With block vairiable not set
This does not happen if you add one room.
did not happen with Beta 1

25 Nov 2006, 11:12I've now updated the Beta 2 package to fix this, so if you download again and reinstall this should work properly.
