Mystic Hour of Midnight is set in the world of 'Antium', just waiting to be explored, with many cities, towns, and dungeons, and more wilderness than you can stake a stick at, loads of people to interact with, monsters to fight, quests to do and items to collect, as well as a advanced weather system, battle martix, dynamic descriptions that change with time and weather, magic, laws with a bounty system, oodles of skills to train, levels to gain and dragons to be slain. MHM is the most courageous project taken on using the asl quest system.

Or just another of these uber-epic-massive Quest games that get mentioned from time to time but never get finished? (*cough*Shadow Projekt and that game MetalGod was blathering on about for a while*cough*)

I think it's mainly a Questnet game - perhaps never for download..
I kinda help, and if she gives me any code I'll pitch in with bits (not I got me a working Quest!)...
So I'm sure this one will be continued.

* saved charaacters
* shops
* inventory
* equipable items
* time and weather system
* alignment
* dynamic player descriptions

21 May 2006, 04:38I gave up on Shadow Projekt. I did have some problems with my PC and my HDD was corrupt (I claimed HDD failure to avoid a hassle) and a large portion of it was lost. About 2 weeks of revision went into it after and I officially gave up. I can say that I will most likely never, ever finish it and the source code isn't too useful since most of the 100k or so is storyline (if I have that version of it. I may have the 24k or 60 something kb one only). If anyone wants that let me know but it died out a while ago. I had plans and I was serious about it for nearly a year. I still have the storyline planned out but no motivation to finish.

25 May 2006, 04:03Sadly I didn't notice any "persistant dynamically created rooms" in that list of features, which makes me wonder if QuestNet still hasn't been updated to properly support saving of all game objects. If there had just been some way to save properties to dynamic rooms and reload them, alas.
Nice to see that folks are still committed though, I think about how much progress I had made sometimes, ponder going back to it, and how much I just didn't want to cheat myself out of a lot of the features I had my heart set on in a game.

26 May 2006, 19:07Exams..... ARG! I've gotten moving mobs working, after finding the mistake in tron's coding! Plonker, forgeting the sting variable markers and causing a subscript error, lol. Anyway it's half term this week which means i'll be at home alone and can work on the game.
can't you 'save' questnet games on the host machine and reload them laters? it sucks if you can't, noe crap and ARG my lvl 69 l33tist GONE!!11!!eleven!!!
ok, enough leet-speak. i'm very commited to Mystic, i have a horribley short attention span and.... um... oh yeah i've started making a comic about a parasitic snake, i know it sounds creepy and weird, but it's really cool! trust me! i can't draw that good though, if i can get the scanner working and finish the first page or so, i might give you guys a sneak peak!
anyway, does anyone want to still join up for alpha testing, give suggestions for stuff to add to the game, etc.... yes? YAY HYPER HAPPY!!! (repeat million times) (sorry, tron has to put up with me saying 'hyper happy' constantly) (sorry)

AFAIK means: "As Far As I Know"... I'm sure you've asked before..
You should be able to load/save the stuff - but I've heard there's been some problems.

27 May 2006, 07:50yeah.. it was my code, you just turned a million 'if's into a 'for' for me. i've used 'for's elsewhere now that i know how to use them btw, yay dragons. and you're meant to be the super programmer, anyway. lol.

yeah... i seem to be really bored lately, even by solitaire, which i think is very bad. i think the exams are starting to get to me. anyway my last exam is on the 16th june so after that i can work my ass off on my game...
i have put together a bit more to the battle code, and created some new formulae though. the battle code it horrible as i'm using a VERY dynamic system, which mutiple combatants and a (hopefully, overly:) complicated system for getting everybody's names into an array in the order of their speed. damn, i hope it works in the end...
didn't some-one have a cool code for gaining exp, that varries with your level. i need something like that...
any help is welcomed, and i'm thinknig of possibly starting a team to work on MHM together. if you want to join, tell me. i'm only taking the best though.
