Well, I don't like the idea of a new forum - the old one was fine so the motto I made was "if it aint broke, don't fix it".
Obviously those democratic people STOLE my motto, so I have a new one: "If it IS broke - leave it alone on the floor, or if you need the floor space, on the table. When it grows enough mold it should wander off."
Ah well - I guess this will do, while the old one grows mold and scampers off!

The old forum was fine in its day, three years ago when I installed it. But now there are so much more flexible forums available for free I thought it was time to upgrade. So finally we've caught up with the present day where you can add smileys without having to insert your own image tags, where you can see which posts are new without scratching your head trying to remember how long ago you last browsed the forums, and where you can edit posts, and where I can maintain things without having to physically edit the text files.

I've had a bit of a search trying to find comparisons between YaBB and phpBB, and as far as I can make out there's not much difference in terms of features, and most people find phpBB more stable and faster. So I don't understand why anybody should be complaining - so please let me know. As far as I can gather, phpBB is one of the most popular forum systems available. Seems like a good choice to me. But I could be wrong.

But this isn't a YaBB forum... it's a phpBB one.

Can we edit the posts?
I really hate when people do that - means you have to go through the WHOLE topic again just for small changes in a post somewhere...

Getting back to what I was saying before "Can we edit posts?"... I can't see any 'Edit' tags around here!

At the top-right of each post there's an "Edit" button next to the "Quote" button. On my login anyway - hopefully you can see it on yours. If not, let me know because it's probably a setting I've overlooked somewhere.
