Make a backup of your game

Like you haven't been told before about 100 times.
I got out of the habit of making backups and just had a power surge/outage while working on a game I had months into. Now the aslx file just says NUL about 150,000 times. Bummed yes but now I can rewrite a better version from scratch.

Look at me being positive...and backing up again.

It’s a bummer when that happens. I always make incremental saves and save to Dropbox.

Have you tried opening the .aslx file with NotePad or similar? Has all the text gone?

it just has:
nul nul nul nulnulnulnulnulnulnulnulnulnulnul nul nul nul nul nul nulnulnulnulnulnulnulnulnulnulnul nul nul

I'm so sorry about your game. :/ You didn't have a backup anywhere? I freaked out when I lost a couple of days worth of information once, I can't imagine months of work just completely gone.

Is this (perhaps) a game you've previously emailed to me?

If so, and you don't have the old message in your SENT messages, I could maybe find something on my end. . .

Maybe buy an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). I would yell and scream for days if I lost months of work.

Using a laptop even as the transformer protects against spikes and the battery against outages.

K.V, no the one I sent you is an older different game.
