not bad.bit to light for my taste.

more songs will be uploaded after we've recorded them. We do a good variety, so there are some heavy ones, and some lighter ones.

my band played some songs today for assembley. There were about 300 kids there...whats your biggest crowd?

I prefer the heavier music. Here's some (mild and extreme):
Slayer (most mild), Cradle of Filth, Necrophagia, Mayhem, Wurdulak, Ravenous, Viking Crown, Gorelord etc.
http://www.necrophagia.com for Necrophagia, Wurdulak, Ravenous, and Viking Crown.

I've played drums in an orchestra infront of over 1000 people at one of the UK's most famous venues (Winter Gardens and Grand Theatre in Blackpool). :)

My band is hard rock, 70's style.

we just spent around 2,800 pounds on new gear. 2000 on P.A, 800 on electric drum kit so it's pretty awesome. Got a demo going around Manchester (UK's most famous music city), so it's all good from here onwards :)

Erm, I think London reserve's the right to UK's most famous city... Either that or that place the queest lives.... Buckingham Palace - I can quite remember what city it's in.. Think it begin's with an L, or perhaps an R.... Nottingham?

LOL!

you're probably right. I meant famous music city. But then again that's London anyway coz of camden town and the amount of record producers down there. But i think more gigs for famous bands are held in Manchester.

Anyways, here's an update. New website, new host:

http://www.hoodwink.nevetsweb.com

I've played in a ten people string orchestra on the violin in front of my whole school: years 1 - 12, as well as all the staff.

I just got back from a gig. There was around 200-250 people there.(I play lead guitar).

I tried to listen to your music, but the player doesn't seem to work well for me. Some ogg or mp3 files would have been easier to check.
I like old school metal, even if I'm more into pagan / black metal such as Graveland, Taake, Windir, Kampfar, Skyforger, old Dark Throne.

we got a gig this sunday. i'll tell you all how it went.

on easter? cool.

gig was AWESOME, sound was amazing, the band played really well. very tight. so im please with that :)

do you get payed for this?

elexxorine wrote:do you get payed for this?

nope, was a jam night. We're in the stage of getting known before we do proper gigs. plus we need more songs.

I'm not trying to make this thread morbid, but being a drummer Zelimos, you'd probably of heard about the Crowded House drummer Paul Lester committing suicide here in Australia. I was just wondering how that made you feel.

A Blaze In The Northern Sky :P
Don't like the other bands much. I'm into heavier. Can't wait for Necrophagia's new cd Harvest Ritual Vol. 1

Also, on a side note, has anyone ever seen the uncut version of Cannibal Holocaust. I'm buying it soon :P
Supposedly the goriest movie ever. It's banned in 5 or 6 countries.

Haven't heard of him, and couldn't care less anyway.

on another note.

http://www.hoodwink.nevetsweb.com - Update once more time. I'm pretty happy with this look.

GIG TONIGHT

Playing in Poulton, home of the chav. I just hope it's in the quiter area so i don't get stabbed after the gig. we play at 11:20 - 12am. Another Jam night so it should be fun since i haven't heard of the other bands before. Makes a nice change.

I will post the results later tonight or tomorrow.

gig was AMAZING. lots of GREAT bands, good audience, awesome sound. We played last, so didn't have a BIG audience as it was from 8-10:30pm, but we got a good applause and the audience was really interested.

We got offered a payed gig for the 3rd of July, so that's pretty cool.

Probably our best gig yet, and many more to come.

Due to the band having the same name as 7 other bands, we will be changing our name to "Tequila Mockingbirds".

Goodnight

oh, and we changed the band name to Scarlet Daggers

I gotta gig tonight!!

playing at some fashion show thing.

Your not even funny.

Oh, and the end of your name says i can, i saw , i jacked off.

That in turn is not funny either.
Your just not much of a funny person.

My gig went fine! Bout 250 ppl there and a great applause.

congratulations. Maybe we could get Alex to edit the name of this thread to make it "How Did Your Gig Go?". It would certainly make it more relevant

hello zelimos. i play guitar and sing in a band called Polykites. we played our first two gigs over the past few weeks. and got paid. glad of it too. how come you are having to play jam sessions first? do you have a demo to send to venues?

Umm, i think zel is gone.

yeah i guessed he probably was.

banned? or just left?

Either's fine with me.

lol :P

wow, alot went on since i last posted. Band split up, i went and joined a new band, did a festival in blackburn. I had a talk with my old band and we got some new stuff together, and a new bassist. Did that 3rd of July gig. Not many people turned up actually, but we were support by one of the best bands in Blackpool (they won battle of the bands).

The sound wasn't too good, monitor was crap, electric drum kit was crap, but it was worth the 20 quid i got out of the little we got paid lol.

Anyway, after i re-joined, they'd changed the name to Wyldkard. This one will stick hopefully.

I'm working on my 2 solo singles, but i'll probably get a backing band, since we will have our own recording studio in a week's time.

------------------------------------

Oh, and to those wondering. I have a busy life, with a full-time job, my partner needs alot of attention lol, and my music is important to me. I am in the process of making that game (alot has changed since then too), which should be ready for a stress test once i get these sprites done.
