http://www.1and1.com

I came across this on some other forums and thought I'd share it here for anyone interested.

You get free for three years:
500mb's storage space
5gb monthly transfer limit
php, mysql, cgi, etc.
FTP access

Sign up is pretty simple, enter your information, get a confirmation email, enter your 10 digit phone number(us and canada hurray, sorry uk FIX YOUR TEETH!), recieve a call from an automated service(no human interaction necessary) with a pin number, enter pin number on website, await (yet another) confirmation email, and you're set up. No credit card required to sign up(very cool).

So far the only thing I don't really like about the service is it takes a little while(an hour) to change where domains point and such, other than that, pretty good for free(can't complain at that price). Eh, try it out if you need some webspace.

I read through this post thinking: Oh wow free 500 MB storage, 5 GB of monthly transfer, and php for free for three years, then find out you need a 10 digit phone number. I live in Australia where there are 8 digit numbers only! How can I get around this problem?

Have someone in the states use their number and give you the PIN number I guess. Unfortunately it's one account per phone number and I've already used mine.

Does the phone number have to work, I can I just make it up?

"More logical?
Is that possible?"

2 questions:
1) A suprising question, taking your question and putting a twist on it.
2) A rhetorical question - to which the answer is 'NO'.

"I don't think so."
A general statement. The answer to the second question just incase you didn't catch it.

Hey Ste - if he doesn't understand me then that's OK.

Oh, as a side part. CM - why do you change the message subject? Is there really a point?

Just before - and in that very message:
Subject: what
before: Subject: calm down.

I just wondered why spend the extra time that's all.
