AlertBox's Alert Boxes
Thanatos
27 Jan 2008, 00:00... Is a Site I am currently working on, (hosted by freewebs ) containing a bunch of annoying Alert Boxes that you can't get rid of without shutting down your computer! It's completely legit (not a virus) and anyone can do it with a little HTML Coding. The site is below:
http://www.freewebs.com/alertbox/index.htm
I am updating this daily and adding more and more crap onto it so If you have anything you would like me to add on just say so!
Peace,
~Thana

27 Jan 2008, 05:10I've just got out of it.
.. quite easy too, just a little lateral thinking.
(browser isn't closed off, and you can do it with only one or two pop-up boxes appearing)

27 Jan 2008, 05:19Steps to take:
1) click on link in this page
2) pop-up appears
3) click on web-page
4) hit the escape and then backspace keys
5) hit 'ok' one or maybe two times (since the webpage has changed, the javascript is no longer valid).
This works on Linux Firefox V 2.0.0.10
I'm half-betting it's also valid in Windows Firefox.
And I'm just going to expect IE doesn't.

27 Jan 2008, 05:20Alright then, thanks.
I think Im Dead
27 Jan 2008, 05:34That took literally 20 seconds of clicking before every alert box was closed, pssh. Why didn't you just loop 1 with javascript or php or something? how about a tiny flash script that causes your browser to stop responding.
Also, I could just click anywhere else outside the window or ctrl-alt-del/ctrl-shift-esc and just end the process.
You have entirely too much time on your hands and didn't think this out.

27 Jan 2008, 13:43I've seen one with 750 boxes, yours was nowhere near. I got through it with the little trick of pressing both enters really fast, ended in about 5 seconds...

27 Jan 2008, 16:33You could have just held down the [enter] key..

27 Jan 2008, 17:35Hmm... didn't think of that. I still beat it with no thought at all in seconds... Come on Thanatos, you can do better!

01 Feb 2008, 11:27Ah, Thanatos. My, you can dish it out but you sure can’t take it, can you? Would you mind terribly if I referred to you as Michael the Gamer Mk II from now on?

01 Feb 2008, 12:44Frankly im just wondering what you lose by being kind - having a heart, for once.

01 Feb 2008, 12:47Yes, Michael. Whatever.
BTW, you'd better quit arguing with me. Don't you have 15 huge epic games to finish?
