Look's OK - apart from you made the most obvious mistake ever - you can't "Hack" using Microsoft Telnet!
You should have gone for something like a Linux Terminal...

i know, but Telnet was the only thing i could copy lol.

it dont matter what it is really, only that the game should be fun to try out when i get round to the nitty gritty bits

did u also try and type 'OPEN', then an IP, so far it doesnt connect but ill soon put in something so that it begins the game.

Yeah - may I suggest a "story bit" first?
IE. talking to some hacker friend and then going on to a "mission" . . . Maybe more missions, maybe some missions leading onto others (with various screen shots, pictures, documents, etc...).

This could be quite good IMO.

EDIT:
Oh, BTW - yes, I did try open (along with Help and "CD ..") and also looked at the code to see that it wouldn't work. I don't know how you're going to have them 'hack' the servers though :? .

Like uplink sort of?

Eh, could be a good idea if it was based on facts, something besides a Windows OS, and was made interesting. Create little animated faces and record a few cheesy segments of text for them. have the panes automatically off, and perhaps use some color and a tools or something type screen(some commands that bring up a mission status screen, a mission timer screen, a small story about hackers trying to stop some evil corporation, a tools screen, a few commands to combine different "disks" of data to create password generators(read: crackers), etc. Not a bad idea, but challenging to make a good one.

yeah, the game itself will be based on the Uplink game.
