Watch this South Park episode.
Don't you think Cartman saying all that stuff reminds you about witch wizard?
"there are 2 towers, 2 - 1 is 1.. 1 1 is 11.. 2 - 1 is 1.. 1 1... and there are 9 members on the board... that's 9 1 1.. nine-eleven! and take 2 - 1 plus nine eleven, and you get 12.. which leads us all to the mastermind behind nine-eleven.... kyle... twelve contains the numbers 1 and 2.. just like yesterday where someone took a number 2 in the urinal instead of number 1... add 1 and 2 with 911 and you get 914... drop the 4 and it's 91.. EXACTLY the score of his test 12 days after 911!"
.. Quite how they captured the essence I'll never know.
.. I also think this is one of the best South Park's I've ever seen.. the Buck Rogers one was ace too.

Ever see the Bart Simpson episode, where Bart is considered to be a genius, which is why he's a troublemaker, and he's put in the advanced-class. The kids in the class are speaking in anagrams, palindromes, and in other word play techniques. It's hilarious, from my perspective.
Try this exercise, in light of the mood...
Look at your keyboard (for U.S. keyboards anyways)...
Follow the keys left, up, right, then down...
ALT: ALT (ALTERNATE)
CONTROL: CONTROL
SHIFT: SHIFT
CAPS LOCK: COP LACKS
TAB: BAT
BACKSPACE: PACES BACK
ENTER: RE NET
The story is incomplete because I'm not listing all of the keys for the code, but in a general sense listing the anagrams in order gives...
ALT CONTROL; SHIFT. COP LACKS BAT. PACES BACK, RE NET.
To fill in the blanks you're not seeing, the basic story is about a criminal who wins a battle between him and a cop because the cop lacks a weapon (the bat) to be in control with. But the criminal runs back towards the cop after fleeing and the cop traps the criminal this time.

Oh, for a bit of fun mix iron and sulphur then rub your hands and touch it. ha ha, so funny if you get one else to do it! It blows up, highly explosive, very sensative to static too, he he lol. Have fun....

The title is "mystery of the urinal turd"... It has these two mystery solving brothers come in and say "I'm getting a clue... I'm getting a RAGING clue! .. Now my clue's even bigger!" etc.

Which flavor do you use? In my experience, upgrading Linux has been pretty straightforward.

Fedora core, upgrading from 4 to 5 was pretty nice.. The only niggle I had was sound and perhaps CUPS.Which flavor do you use? In my experience, upgrading Linux has been pretty straightforward.
(sound - as in, my onboard sound suddenly stopped working - but my sound blaster still worked).
The latest upgrade from 5 to 6 had packages not upgraded properly so yum wouldn't work off the shelf, and some of my custom installed stuff (like mono/kde) was prooving problems... Not to mention the nightmare which is GRUB.
.. Why the hell won't grub work unless you install something into the MBR of the hard drive?
How come, when you install the kernel source, it has to be in i586, while the default i686 is not linked properly from /usr/#whatever#/build (which points to i586).. And when you change this link - plugins won't build because of some errors (even though uname -a returns i686).
.. Plus the amount of time it takes to install (an hour) after which, it still won't work because GRUB didn't alter the MBR.. so you need to do it again, then copy the backed-up data back into place, and re-do the upgrade, etc.
ARRRRGG!

01 Feb 2007, 17:17It does me good to hear that Linux has its fair share of problems. I know a few people in real life who use it and swear by it and wouldn’t even touch a Windows computer if you paid them. (Bill Gates is the Devil apparently and regularly kills nuns and eats babies.)
Nice to know that the alternative to Windows isn't the vunder-computer I keep hearing about

01 Feb 2007, 20:51Yeah, linux has loads of problems... Most of them political.
EVERYTHING has to be under this GPL umbrella, which means the drivers HAVE to be open source or else it's a bastard to install/configure.
Saying that, things seem to be running better now that the dependencies are sorted out.. Plus I have firefox 2 again... which is VERY weird as I seem to remember only 1.5 being available through yum.
I use Linux for basically 99.9% of my home life, and 50% of my working life (purely because windows is installed on my PC at work by force/default).
.. I did choose a notoriously middle-ground linux distro though.. Not easy-peasy and not hard-as-nails.
- Plus, anyone who knows me knows I have to change EVERYTHING to be just perfect for me.. So half of that has got to be the reason it's been harder this time around.
I can say a fair amount of my problems were my own damn fault!
Overall, not bad.. 3 days outage for doing 2 jobs: sorting out my hard drives and upgrading Linux.

02 Feb 2007, 01:47I guess I chose the supposed "hard-as-nails" route since I started with Slackware 9.1. On a side note, Bill Gates isn't the devil - eBay is. I should know, I worked for the bastards in their canadian centre. Although I was with the core site and not the canadian version.

02 Feb 2007, 05:58Never having to upgrade Mandriva Linux before, i've got know idea what it involves.
But Linux is awesome, and while it has problems like any piece of software does, it has far fewer then windows.
And yes, Bill Gates is the devil
