How Do You Update Games?
TextingStories
19 Jun 2012, 06:26How do you update already made games using Quest as a player? Are they automatically updated or do you have to do it manually or do you have to actually remove the game you had already downloaded previously and then redownload it? Like if I was a beta tester, how do I keep getting the newest version to keep being able to check the newest version of the game? And I am not playing the web version, but the desktop version.
Also when someone does update their game (As in they said they fixed what was previously found with mistakes.) does both the desktop version and the online version get updated at the same time or does the game maker have to do it manually himself and one or the other, online or desktop, may never get updated if he or she forgot to do one or the other?

19 Jun 2012, 11:41There's no auto-updating feature for Quest games. That being said, if you're playing through the website, you'll always be playing with whatever version has been uploaded, so if the author keeps updating the game, you'll automatically be playing the newest version.
As for downloaded games, you just download newer versions as they become available. Or not. It's up to you.

19 Jun 2012, 23:01On the desktop version you have to manually remove the game (right-click, select Delete Downloaded File). Then when you re-download it will pick up the new version.

Yea I figured that was one method, but I was hoping there was another. If I do do it that way, is my old save now useless? And what does right clicking and then left clicking "Clear All Items" do? Erase the entire list of games in an instant?
