Old Quest Games

30 Dec 2009, 15:29Hi, I haven't used Quest for a long time but now I have returned to it I was wondering where I could get some of the old games for it? Such as the one with the car salesman, and the one with the aliens landing in that boy's front garden?
Thanks.

Thanks.
Alex
30 Dec 2009, 16:49Pretty much all the Quest Games that have ever been released should be on www.textadventures.co.uk - all the games that used to be on the old Quest Games Archive were moved there.

12 Aug 2010, 23:03I keep hitting errors on older quest games. Is there anywhere I can find the previous versions of Quest?

13 Aug 2010, 17:33What sort of errors are you getting? Which games?
Older games should work fine in the latest version of Quest, so please let me know more details and I'll fix any bugs that are occurring.

13 Aug 2010, 22:59I found a game called Witches Mansion. I'm unable to look at most things or take anything. Someone said it ran fine on older versions of Quest.
> look at bookshelf
!intproc30
> examine bookshelf
You find a little switch hidden on the shelf and pull it. A compartment opens up revealing another book.

17 Aug 2010, 18:27I was able to open this in notepad and change the version number to 412. That did the trick.

17 Aug 2010, 21:46I've now fixed the bug for v4.1.3, which I'll release soon.
The problem was that "look" scripts for objects were not running when objects were looked at. This only applied to games written for Quest 3.1 and earlier.
The reason you don't get any response for "take leather volume" is that's the way that game was written. It won't do anything when you take the leather volume unless you have the star.
