Hey everyone. My name's David, and I just decided to join the forum to get involved with the Quest community. I've uploaded one game, Sandbox Samurai, using QDK Lite. I haven't bought the full version simply because I can't afford it.

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hi David! Welcome! I did see your game in the archive and I had already downloaded it but hadn't had a chance to play it yet. I'll let you know what I think after...

Here's a ham sandwich while you wait...

Ooooh, I could really go for a ham sandwhich...

In a French stick roll..
With cheese...
And lettuce....
maybe some salt and vinegar crisps in there too..

Thanks guys, I look forward to hearing your critique. :)

It's not technically my first game, but it is the first one I've done in a while as well as the first I've submitted.

You must be hungry!

I rather have a McDonald's Hamburger instead of a ham sandwich with cheese, lettuce and Salt and Vinegar chips in a French stick roll

Hey David, I like the black background of the game and you seem to be mostly grammatically sound. :) I want to know though, was the game working properly when you uploaded it? I mean was there a way to get to the end? Do you mind giving a few tips on getting through it? I looked at it on QDK and I don't see how some of the objects will actually work. I don't see how the TV can be turned on, for instance. "turn on TV" isn't recognized.
I noticed in a couple different objects (twig, mousechuk) that there are commands or something entered in the action tab of the object's properties. I have no idea what it does or how it works. I saw something else startling in that tab also. There are commands that reference ~internal procedure 25 or 24, etc... yet under the game's procedure list, there are no procedures.
I'm asking all this because it appears some thought went into this game and I am curious what it is supposed to be doing.

Not to question your mighty rating procedure but does this rating of 4 mean you were able to play through to the end? Could you post a tutorial? Just curious.

Em. I dont want to waste about 3 hours posting a tutorial or a walkthough but heres some verbs that I found and used to finish the game

turn on
turn off
use
look under
read
cut dvd with
flush
use on
tape object to
take twig to

Takes a lot of thinking :D :D :D

Well it might be because I tried to make what I wanted to happen work one way and I couldn't get it to so I found an alternate way and simply forgot to delete it another way. Anyway, I'll go ahead and post a walkthrough.

1) Open DVD player.
2) Take DVD.
3) Move SW to Sister's Room.
4) Look under bed.
5) Open Scrapbooking Kit.
6) Type "cut dvd with scissors"
6.5) Take mouse.
7) Move NE.
8) Move NW.
9) Turn on the sink, then the bathtub.
10) Move SE.
11) Go Up.
12) Open drawer.
13) Take object.
14) Go down.
15) Go out.
16) Take Twig,
17) Type either "tape object to twig" or "tape twig to object"
18) Use the Sandbox.

That should do it. If that doesn't work let me know; that was all from memory.

Nope, no eating contests.
Actually, I really only eat when I'm at home - that is properly anyway. While I'm out I might have snack bars, packets of crisps, biscuits and sausage rolls.. On the odd occasion I go into a good pub or restaurant I'll have salmon, or gammon steak, or beef steak, etc. All proper food.

No fast food (burgers, pizzas, etc). No currys (or other indian, or chinese or tai-food).
Mostly, I love cooking for myself - chicken, beef stew, cottage pie, pork chops.. Haven't really gotten into 'fancy food' but I may try my versatile hands some day.

Oh I get what's happening. I am attempting to play this on the older 3.5 and it was created in 4.2 and apparently includes a library that I don't have installed. In that library, I assume there are "turn on/turn off" commands, etc... So in short, I can't play this/review this until I play it in the current version of quest. I'll get around to it eventually.

Why dont you upgrade to Quest?
Is it just because you can make unlimited rooms like KQ game and unlimited object or is it because you are bored for upgrading it

that remind's me, I gonna check for a new upgrade of Quest

Are you referring to the KQ game that you scored a one?
What is the point of your question? Don't answer that, it's rhetorical.
For your information, despite the fact that Quest 4 has been out for a year or so, I have not played with it and I had no idea that there were limitations. I opened it once when it first came out and decided I would wait to learn how to use the new one (if there were differences). I haven't been making any games in that long either. I got back into it when the Christmas contest was announced.

As a hint to you, if you do not wish for people to make fun of you on here, I suggest that if you have a question that really only pertains to me, send me a message and I will reply.
