Interactive Fiction Designer

21 May 2014, 13:07Hi guys
First of all, I just wanted to say that I really like Quest and it has inspired me to create something completely from scratch. I do not know if this is appropriate or not, but I wanted to tell you about the software I am busy creating with which you can create online interface fiction, just like with Quest.
Please don't get me wrong, I really really liked Quest, but there were something I wanted to do that I could not find in Quest.
The editor is still far from completed. It is only in alpha (main features complete, but still buggy). If any of you guys ever wanted to see what it looks like, head over to http://www.sillygamesstudio.com. It is an online editor, currently with now server-side saving or processing. The entire editor with built-in player runs on the client (browser). If you create a new story, you can download it to your local machine, and also upload it again to modify/play it.
I plan on adding server-side saving as well as full publishing of your end product as a complete, stand-alone, publishable web site.
Anyways... Just wanted to show it to you and perhaps get some critique...
Kind regards,
Bridgette

21 May 2014, 15:44I like it. It has a smooth feeling when using it because it's fast and minimalist. No login required and the download feature is nice.
Not working on mobiles and create some things that doesn't show. I think scripts are limited from the setup game, no multimedia scripts.
I'll be open to translate it to spanish when it's finished if you create a language option. It will be well received in the spanish community.
Good to go!

21 May 2014, 17:55Thanks for the feedback!
Yes I admit, there is still a lot of work to be done.
As for translating to Spanish - that would be awesome. The editor currently supports 2 languages (English and Afrikaans), but there are no ways (yet) to change the language preference through the UI. I will add it in soon.
Anyways - I really appreciate the feedback.
Regards,
Bridgette

24 May 2014, 12:36Hi, m4u
If it is okay, I would like to know if you still wanted to help me translate into Spanish. We have recently added game sharing capabilities to SillyGames Studio, which means people can create and share their stories with others to play. Also, it is now possible to switch between languages on the main site, however we only currently support two languages and I would love it if you would assist in translating it to Spanish. Please let me know.

26 May 2014, 07:14Is it possible that your editor is not running in Firefox?

26 May 2014, 17:15We have only tested it in Chrome. I will have a look at Firefox

30 May 2014, 02:12Sure, I'd like to translate it. It's looking great! Awesome news about the app, i was waiting for that. Interesting effect in the demo with the text going backwards. And now is working in my tablet, good job!
